Good service, friendly staff. A community favorite. Call your order in, they are busy. The sit down eating area is closed
Bought 6 seafood dinners with hush puppies today. No complaints. Its what Mom want for her pre Mother's Day meal. Food was just as good and tasty just like it was 16 years ago when they cater my father's "after repast" at the last moment. You know those relatives that don't leave after repast that started drinking and now got the munchies. Well, I had to go get a full tray of fried fish from H&D with bread. Got to have the bread to soak up all that alcohol. It was spot on with the leftover sides from the repast. They saved the day and some lives without knowing it! No drunk drivers left my house that day.
Nice place , clean . Order crab cake bowl , wing bowl with small sides of Mac and Cheese and Collard greens Mac and cheese : 5 ( not what I thought) Crab cake : 4 ( fried to hard ) Wings : 8 ( oil was clean ) Fries : 7 Staff friendly
If I’m being honest, this is the best thing on 4th street. And ppl who are from the area have no choice but to agree. Syd the chef is THAT guy. Don’t let the durag fool you now! And Dutchess is such a wonderful spirit, I look forward to seeing her when I go into order my food. They’re always so polite, very helpful and the food is good. Fried fish nice and hot and seasoned with some hot sauce and that slice of white bread that stick to the roof of your mouth… *chef kiss* I just wished they were open on Sundays.
H&D never disappoints. The food is tasty. The cashier was friendly (a rarity these days). The cook was considerate in venting the container so the fried items stayed crispy. I (and many colleagues) were regulars at the Northeast location. I am so glad there is location so near me now.
Got the fish box with a side of Mac and cheese and everything was good, even down to the tartar sauce. Fish was perfectly seasoned, flakey, and meaty with a good crust and generous portions. Service was great, lady up from was very kind and the food came out as fast as it could for being made fresh.
Amazing staff at the legendary Horace & Dickie's. Always wanted to try the fish and crab cakes. Pictured. Will be back for Po'boy, oyster style. Dessert Baker was out of town, but I hear the desserts are perfect.
